Program-Specific Instructions

Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis; however, to receive priority consideration for scholarships and funding applications must be submitted by the priority deadline.

Applicants might be asked to interview with at least one member of the program faculty or admissions committee. If applicable, the Arts Management office will arrange for an interview with the applicant.

Guidance for the Goals Statement

Applicant’s statement of purpose should include and respond to each of the following points below: 

  • Why are you interested in Mason’s Arts Management Graduate Program?
  • Whether specific to visual arts, performing arts, or both, identify a current arts management challenge and assess its impact on the field. (For assistance, refer to Arts Management course listings or contact admissions.)
  • What are your past arts and culture experiences and how has that influenced your current career goals? 

Statements of purpose should be 2-3 pages, single spaced, 12 size font, pdf format, and will be uploaded as part of your online application. Additional attention should be given to ensure the document is free of spelling errors when submitted.
