As of February 26, 2026 we are no longer accepting applications on a rolling basis for the Fall 2026 semester as we have reached full capacity. If additional space becomes available, we will post an update here. The Fall 2027 application will open in August 2026. Please contact cphgrad@gmu.edu if you have any questions.

- Official U.S./Canadian transcripts from all schools attended ordered to DICAS
- C.V./Resume
- Statement of Purpose
- Two (2) letters of recommendation
- SUPPLEMENTAL APPLICATION: As part of the admissions process, George Mason University requires a supplemental application for graduate programs in the Department of Nutrition and Food Studies. Applicants will receive a link via email to the supplemental application AFTER their completed DICAS application is VERIFIED. There is no additional fee for the supplemental application
Admission Requirements

- Inorganic/General Chemistry 6 (2 semesters)
- Organic Chemistry 4 (1 semester)
- Human Anatomy and Physiology 4
- Microbiology 3
- Biochemistry 3
- Statistics 3
- Intro to Nutrition 3
- Advanced Nutrition/Metabolism 6 (2 semesters)
- American Government 3
- Medical Terminology 1
- TOTAL Minimum Credits 36 credits
- Minimum 3.0 GPA
- At least a bachelor's degree from a regionally-accredited institution
International Requirements
- World Education Services (WES) Course-by-Course (CxC) Evaluation of academic records from all institutions attended outside of the U.S. and English-speaking Canada ordered to DICAS
- English proficiency test scores for applicants who attended post-secondary institutions outside of the U.S. and waiver-eligible countries
- TOEFL: send scores to George Mason University Graduate Admissions (minimum score: 88 with 20 in each section)
- IELTS: send scores to George Mason University Graduate Admissions (minimum score: 7.0 with 6.5 in each section)
- Pearson: send scores to George Mason University Graduate Admissions (minimum score: 67)
- Duolingo: send scores to George Mason University Graduate Admissions (minimum score: 120)
